Our Story

Master Park's World Best Tiger Taekwondo was founded by Grandmaster Chisoon Park, a 9th Dan Black Belt with over 50 years of experience in Taekwondo. After decades of teaching, coaching at the highest levels, and developing generations of students and black belts in Korea, Grandmaster Park came to Canada in 2013 with a simple mission: to share the true spirit, values, and traditions of Korean Taekwondo with the next generation.

What began as one family-run Taekwondo school has grown into four locations, with more than 1,000 students training under the Tiger Taekwondo family. While we continue to grow, our purpose remains the same: to use Taekwondo not only to develop strong athletes, but to help children become brave, confident, disciplined, respectful, and strong individuals.

Be Brave. Be Confident. Be Strong.

Our Core Values

Discipline

Discipline is a cornerstone of Taekwondo, instilled through rigorous training that encompasses both the body and mind. By immersing oneself in the principles and techniques of Taekwondo, individuals cultivate a disciplined approach to life, fostering self-control, focus, and determination.

Self-Defense

Taekwondo equips individuals with the ability to recognize and effectively manage situations where self-defense becomes necessary. Through our comprehensive training system, practitioners acquire the necessary techniques to defend themselves intelligently when faced with threats. The skills acquired through Taekwondo training have the potential to thwart potential dangers, thereby reducing the risk of becoming a victim.

Confidence

Taekwondo fosters confidence by promoting a culture of success and empowering individuals to take control of their lives. Through training and accomplishment, practitioners develop a belief in their abilities and a sense of self-assurance, enabling them to face challenges with resilience and determination.

Focus

Focus is an integral aspect of Taekwondo, as it involves the synchronization of mind and body. Through dedicated practice of forms (poomsaes), individuals hone their concentration, thereby enhancing control over their movements. This harmony within the body extends beyond martial arts practice, influencing one's approach to life and interactions within society.

Patience

Patience is fostered in Taekwondo through the enhancement of both physical coordination and mental discipline. This practice strengthens the mind and body, enabling practitioners to develop the endurance and perseverance needed to overcome obstacles and achieve their goals.

Positive Mindset

Taekwondo nurtures a positive mindset by elevating both physical prowess and mental faculties. Through training, practitioners experience a boost in self-esteem as they witness improvements in their physical abilities and mental resilience, leading to a greater sense of self-worth and confidence.
